Cannibal Entropy — Cosmic Love Poem
Cosmic Series II
There is no order,
Only degradation,
A flux of something colder,
Finite grains lapsing in sedation,
The cannibal stars,
Infinitely gnawing and consuming,
Tearing at the very nucleus…
A collapse on the horizon is looming.
The universal strain decays in entropy,
Forces tear relentlessly,
In chaotic gravity,
Until the last star is dead.
E equals M C squared,
Mass converts to suicidal screams…
A collision of reality fighting at the seams.
Novas used to birth life,
Held the bonds of collapsing worlds,
Now they crash to an indifferent call,
The rules of a universe’s love corroded,
A beat of the cosmos rewritten,
Each breath, laws broken and undone,
It used to be a liminal space for nurturing,
Now it is a corona with a gun,
Locked at its core…
Playing Russian roulette with a blazing sun.
The universal kiln annihilates in entropy,
Black holes blossom life,
Spewed back from cosmic death,
A light lost to the night…
A galaxy with a skewed heart is all that is left.
A Newton virus,
Pulling back shattered constants...
Theories become broken promises.
For every reaction,
There is equal withdrawal,
A ravenous corpse,
Crawling over what remains,
Of creation left warped,
It started embraced by a bang,
And will end with smothering teeth,
Celestial spheres that once sang,
Now all they know is violence…
As they seethe to feast on their nebula neighbour.
Entropy reveals the knife to what was…
Forgetting that we once ignited existence.
